Angular Contact Ball Bearing Installation Forms

Angular contact ball bearings support fast and convenient type selection for diverse application scenarios. They feature three standard installation configurations: back-to-back arrangement, face-to-face arrangement and tandem arrangement.

Back-to-back arrangement (wide end faces of two bearings facing outward): The contact angle lines extend outward along the shaft axis. This configuration enhances radial and axial support rigidity and delivers optimal deformation resistance, making it suitable for applications with complex load conditions and deflection risks.

Face-to-face arrangement (narrow end faces of two bearings facing each other): The contact angle lines converge toward the shaft axis, resulting in relatively low angular rigidity. Since the bearing inner ring protrudes beyond the outer ring, clamping the two outer rings eliminates internal clearance and effectively increases bearing preload.

Tandem arrangement (wide end faces of two bearings oriented in the same direction): The contact angle lines remain parallel and uniform, enabling the two bearings to jointly bear unidirectional working loads. To guarantee axial mounting stability, tandem bearing pairs must be installed oppositely at both ends of the shaft.

The service life of high-speed precision angular contact ball bearings is highly dependent on standardized installation. The following operating specifications must be strictly observed:

1. Installation shall be conducted in a dust-free and clean environment. Select qualified bearings and adopt precisely ground spacers. While ensuring consistent height of inner and outer rings, the parallelism tolerance of spacers shall be controlled within 1μm.

2. Thoroughly clean bearings before installation. Place the inner ring with its inclined surface upward during cleaning, and confirm flexible rotation without stagnation. After complete air-drying, fill the bearing with a specified quantity of grease. For oil mist lubrication systems, inject an appropriate amount of dedicated oil mist lubricant.

3. Use professional special tools for installation. Apply force evenly throughout the assembly process; violent knocking and impact are strictly prohibited.

4. Store bearings in a clean, ventilated environment free of corrosive gases, with relative humidity maintained below 65%. Conduct regular anti-rust treatment for long-term stored bearings.
